What’s new in BMCAN exhibitions?

Deborah Sheehan

Gallery ONE88

Our exhibitions at Gallery ONE88 are always popular with members, and the most recent one, Art is the Reason, was no exception. There were 35 pieces selected for the exhibition, which closed on 3 March. Gallery ONE88 is a great professional gallery space, so keep an eye out for the next call for entries.

The Edge

We have upgraded our gallery space in The Edge United Cinemas complex, Katoomba, with:

  • new professional lighting that now runs the whole length of the gallery
  • a new perspex tagging system for the artworks, and
  • new signage both outside and inside the building.

It looks great, and sales continue to increase. The Edge Gallery exhibitions can include paintings, photographs and sculpture.

Picturesque – Braemar Gallery

This exhibition, Picturesque – The Artist’s View of Living in the Blue Mountains, at Braemar Gallery, Springwood, will run for three weeks from 16 May. Further information will be sent out to members soon, so make sure that you check your emails. The exhibition will be open to all art forms – painting, photography, sculpture, jewellery, music – the only constraints are those imposed by the venue space. This will be our major exhibition this year, so we hope that as many members as possible will get involved.

Into the Wild – The Art of Lunch

This exhibition from late November will be open to our members who are artisans, sculptors, ceramic artists, jewellers and similar. It will be held in the beautiful Wild Valley Art Park, Wentworth Falls, and will coincide with an Art of Lunch event that is to be held at the venue. More information to come later in the year.
