Contemplative paintings inspired by nature, travel and imagination.
Frank Boyle was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1960 and has lived in Australia in 1982. Since graduating from The National Art School in Sydney with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000, Frank has had successful solo exhibitions in Sydney and the Blue Mountains and has participated in many group shows. Frank has been predominantly a landscape painter producing simple, uninterrupted but atmospheric landscape paintings. These paintings have become an important part of his studio practice. “My work tends to evolve out of long, deliberate observations and feelings about the world around me and evokes a sense of solitude and isolation. It’s through these simple compositions that I attempt to produce a meditative effect that for me generates the space to find clarity and meaning.”
